Job Description:
Use Computer Aided Engineering (CAE) tools to investigate and develop potential Quiet Steel applications.

Essential Functions of the Position:

•  Full Vehicle/Full System NVH Simulation
  Develop numerical simulations of full vehicles or finished products. Use these models to investigate the potential applications for Quiet Steel, and document the expected benefit for substituting Quiet Steel in these models. CAE modeling methods include:
  - Finite Element Analysis (FEA) – interior noise calculation with coupled
  structural-acoustic models.
  - Boundary Element Method (BEM) – exterior radiated noise
  - Statistical Energy Analysis (SEA) – High frequency airborne noise for
  interior applications.
•  Component Level NVH Optimization
  Using FEA, BEM and SEA, develop detailed Quiet Steel solutions for individual components derived from the system analysis above. Develop part geometry changes and/or metal gage changes necessary to meet the various NVH metrics. Component performance metrics which are required include:
  - Space Averaged Point Mobility
  - Radiated Noise
  - Static Stiffness
  - Static and Dynamic Stress/Strain
•  Data Analysis and Reporting
  Develop and execute detailed plans for the post processing of all of the data generated by the computer analysis noted above. Analyze results and generate compelling technical presentation and other outputs to support Quiet Steel.
•  Quality Systems: QMS System TS 16949, Design & Quality Testing, Design Equipment Ability, Calibration Control of IMT Equipment.

Quality Training Requirements:
NVH Technical Specialists are required to be trained in the following Quality Management System procedures and / or processes:

•  QMS System TS 16949
•  Stage Gate APQP Process
•  DFMEA / FMEA
•  Design & Quality Testing
•  Design Equipment Ability
•  Calibration Control of IMT Equipment

Essential Requirements for the Position:

•  Bachelor’s Engineering degree required: Mechanical, Aerospace or Acoustics.
  Master’s Engineering degree preferred.
•  Minimum five (5) years experience in automotive/C&I (or equivalent) NVH simulation, including FEA, SEA, and BEM.
•  Experience in setting up and conducting NVH tests and providing expertise in computer based analysis.
•  High level organizational skills and problem solving capability.
•  Effective communication and presentation skills.
•  Ability to travel based on business needs.
