MSC's Engineered Materials and Solutions group is structured to serve its customers in three primary industries: Automotive, Consumer & Industrial, and Electronic & Electrical. EM&S continues to engineer new, innovative materials to meet the growing needs of each of these business units. EM&S has dedicated personnel from Research & Development, Marketing, Sales, and Technical Service that serve MSC's clients in each of these industries. For each industry, MSC's material solutions fall into one of two categories.

Energy Management Materials
Energy Management materials are specifically engineered to meet an application's unique operating temperature and modal frequency requirements. These solutions generally involve some form of multi-layer construction laminates. Examples of Energy Management Materials include Quiet Steel®, Sound Trap™, and NRG Damp™.

Coated & Decorative Products
MSC leverages its established history as a premier coil-coater to manufacture a suite of Coated & Decorative Products. The EM&S group prides itself on delivering high quality coated materials via use of its best-in-class production facilities. Examples of Coated & Decorative materials include corrosion resistance coatings and pre-painted metal.
